Sentience-Research is an association of researchers on sentience with the objective of develop and promoting professional and scientific research on sentience aimed to reducing involuntary and useless suffering.
The elephant of our logo represents our commitment to the plurality and compatibility of approaches when addressing the issue of sentience, as in the fable of the blind and the elephant.
We have chosen a baby elephant to convey a humble and fragile attitude, recognizing the difficulty of this field in which we are learning and making mistakes, but also with a perspective of improving and growing rapidly.
In addition, the elephant reminds us of our responsibility in relation to the welfare of individuals of all sentient animal species, such as the african elephant, which has three times more neurons in the nervous system than humans.
Interestingly, the elephant is also the species chosen in this project.
